O M G F O R T S!

I mean have you looked at these forts? They are amazing. I pity the fool that has to pick a winner. Like, Wow. I’m thudding from the imaginarium rumpus magicalness of it all.

Fort Awesome
by jennhoney for the Where the Wild Things Are Fort contest

Construction took all of Sunday. Made entirely with objects stored in the attic. I took three poles and hooked them to the attic rafters with hook-eyes and wire. I then draped upholstery, quilts and sheets over the suspended fort frame. All the fabric is secured with clothes pins. I reassembled my futon from college and covered it with a quilt I just finished. I decorated the interior with objects that I made or have been given as gifts all of which are very important to me. I filled the treasure chest with my favorite books from childhood. I used winter scarves as tie-backs and Christmas & bear-bells hang in the doorway as an alert that tall guests, like me, are arriving. I lit the area with two utility lights and a very long extension cord. I’m queuing this post from Fort Awesome, apparently I have WiFi way up here, I may never leave.

These are my priorities.

What did you do with your Sunday?

Oh my gosh! So…uhhh…who wants to do this with me??

I… I need to do this.

For myself, not for the contest.
