A long time ago I had a black and white postcard hanging on my dorm room wall. It was a close-up of dog paws on a pier, the dog about to jump into the water, maybe. and it said- Cold Feet
One of my friends seemed sort of fixated on it. After her bringing it up several times, I tried to dispel the mystery.
her: Someday I’m going to figure out what that postcard represents to you.
me: I just like dog paws and black and white photography. That’s what it means.
her: No, it means more than that.
