Everybody Lives -

Muahaha, yes! I put a trock song on my album! Everybody lives is taken from the season one episode of Doctor Who, “The Doctor Dances” and the season four episode “Forest of the Dead.” You don’t need to understand Doctor Who to like this song, I promise!

The Day I Feared - Claire Salcedo

Hey look, it’s trock! Or more accurately, tolk! (Timelord folk. I bet you never thought you’d hear that.) Inspired by the fourth season episodes “Silence in the Library” & “Forest of the Dead.” This is by no means a perfect recording, but I’ve started to realize that if I wait for wait I deem “acceptably perfect,” I won’t ever put anything up at all.

The day I have long feared has at long last appeared

You look and see straight through me, like I’m not here

Oh I’d move heaven and earth, and throw the mountains into the sea

If only I could get you to remember me

A thousand white towers sang the last time you spoke to me

But now silence will be all I hear, and darkness all I see

Never thought the last time I’d look in your eyes

Would be the first you’d look in mine, oh love, goodbye.

You impossible man,

You’ve yet to understand

This is not the end

You’ll see my face again

You and me, all of time and space,

You watch us run,

Just you watch us run.

I began writing the lyrics of this song a few weeks after I watched those two episodes. The number of beautiful lines and utterances (and oh God, poor Donna!) in that episode begged for a song. Technically I’ve been sitting on this song for a while, so I really hope you lovely people out there enjoy it!

I’m going to give you a present!

To the DW Mafia and any of my other lovely tumblrinos:

If you’d like a copy of the trock song I posted the other day, My Lonely Angel, go here: . There’ll be a little link on the track for you to download it. I’m going to leave it up until about ten tonight, so go get it!

All I ask of you is that if you download it, please share/play it for anybody who you think might like it. I’ve put together about twelve songs for a new album, and hopefully I’ll begin recording it by the middle of the month, and release it by the end. I’m pinning some ridiculous hopes on this new project, and I’d love it if my friends were apart of making it successful.

(Particularly because I think I’m ridiculous, and you guys don’t! I love you all, and your support and encouraging words has meant so very much to me!)

this is so exciting, and I’m reblogging it so everyone sees it and also so that I’ll remember to download when I get home. <3

My Lonely Angel - Claire Salcedo

I have owed the DW Mafia this song for so very long! This is not a perfect version by any means, or the final one, but I like it. (The polished version of this will be on the guitar, although I do love my little blue ukulele!)

For those of you wondering what this is, it’s a song based on the series 3 episode of Doctor Who, the Girl in the Fireplace. I’ve always thought that it was such a lovely and melancholy episode, and so I set down to write a song about it.
